Wordsmiths are often word creators.

Songwriters are notorious for making up words. Sometimes we do this because the real word doesn't rhyme or fit the meter, and sometimes, I think it is just because we can. I wrote a song called "Charmed and Dangerous" in which I put the new word "temptuous" to replace the word "tempting". I did this for the sake of rhyme and meter, and I liked the way it sounded. If you want to hear the song, you can find it at www.myspace.com/marcisalyer. In his song "The Joker", Steve Miller talks about the "pompetous" of love. He says he doesn't really even know what it means, he just likes it.
